The conical and flat face planar interface ensures highest accuracy and rigidity. Collets, endmill holders, expanding collet chucks, shrink fit tooling, to name just the most important ones, can all be mounted on a single base holder. Exchanging pre-set tools reduce expensive machine downtime to almost zero. Tooling adapters may be interchanged among fixed and rotary base holders. Our compact design assures maximum torque transmission and rigidity, resulting in increased machining accuracy and consequently improved productivity. Our highly precise repeatability is unsurpassed; every tool holder has repeatability within 10 microns and in most cases under five microns. Other interchangeable tooling systems cannot achieve this due to their inaccurate interfaces. Eppinger's modular system adds a new dimension to high precision flexibility.

The Eppinger modular system opens new dimensions with precision, flexibility and cost savings. Its interface is based on a well known and universally used ER Collet pocket configuration. By adapting this configuration into the PRECI-FLEX® design, end-users can have a modular system that does not require the use of modular adapters. However, in efforts to increase accuracy, rigidity and performance, using the PRECI-FLEX® adapters in your set-up is a clear choice over standard ER Collets.

PRECI-FLEX® Adapter System
Adaptors
ER Collet

PRECI-FLEX is the most unique adapter system available in our global market because the cone-face connection gives an interface that allows you to use as an adapter or the conventional ER Collet. Every PRECI-FLEX tool holder will allow you to use the Standard ER Collets if you choose not to have adapters at all. No other adapter system in the world allows for standard ER Collets without an adapter.

Tapping Collet

PRECI-FLEX is the most unique adapter system available in our global market. The cone-face connection gives an interface that allows either an adapter or conventional Standard ER Tapping Collet. Tapping Collets are an excellent alternative to tapping tool holders. Most tapping collets are made to conform with Standard ER tapered collet pocket. Similar to a conventional spring ER collet, every PRECI-FLEX tool holder allows the use of Standard ER Tapping Collets if you choose not to have adapters at all. There is no other adapter system that allows you to use Standard ER Tapping Collets without an adapter!

ER Collet Chuck Extended Small Adapter

PRECI-FLEX ER Collet Chuck Extended Small Adapter sizes your collet chuck down to accommodate tight spaces and small diameter drills. By reducing the chuck size approximately 50 percent, you can clamp smaller diameter drills and gain approximately 50 percent more space around your chuck. These narrow or small restrictions can lead to costly solutions when retooling. By using the PRECI-FLEX ER Collet Chuck Extended Small Adapter you are able to keep the job on the turning center and keep the original tool holder. Each adapter is equipped with a set screw at the bottom of the chuck to act as an adjustable stop.

Weldon Shank Extended Adapter

Much like the Extended Collet Chuck, the Weldon Shank Extended Adapter has a Weldon Shank bore used for tight spaces or additional reach. The Weldon Shank Extended Adapter allows access into narrow holes by reaching farther from the face of the tool holder. This keeps the process on your turning center without finding an entirely new tool holder. These narrow or small restrictions can lead to costly solutions when retooling for this type of job. Additionally, the tool holder that was too short for the job can be kept in the turret. Instead of replacing an entire tool to accommodate the reach, all you need to do is install an extended adapter. Placement of a new adapter in the collet pocket transforms a useless tool holder into a working tool holder with a Weldon Shank Extended Adapter connection. Each adapter is equipped with a set screw at the bottom of the chuck to act as an adjustable stop.

Weldon Shank Adapter

Weldon Shank Adapter is an industry standard for properly fastening your end-mills and drills. Unfortunately, the conventional ER collet does not use a set screw to fasten the Weldon Shank Adapter (it uses a spring action to close in on the parameter of the shank) so it is much less effective for rigid clamping. The PRECI-FLEX Weldon Shank Adapter is primarily important for larger diameter tools where the collet's clamping force is insufficient to avoid slippage. Because collets are not utilizing the Weldon connection, the drills and end-mills have a tendency to slip in the collet which leaves a bad finish and generate tremendous heat in the collet pocket. The most common problem when slippage occurs is tool breakage, fortunately, the Weldon Shank Adapter has an internally ground bore and uses a set screw to pull in the end-mill or drill and properly fasten it with the most rigidity available. Each adapter is equipped with a set screw at the bottom of the chuck to act as an adjustable stop. You can expect increases in tool life, feeds and speeds of your operations.

Shell Mill Arbor Adapter

Typically, if you need to bring a Shell Mill to your turning center, you are required to have tool holders equipped with a pilot arbor; that makes the holder dedicated to running only Shell Mill. With the Shell Mill Arbor PRECI-FLEX Adapter, you are able to transform your collet chuck holder into a shell mill holder instantly. This adapter is a major cost saver because of the flexibility offered in the unique adapter-base combination. Shell Mill Arbor PRECI-FLEX Adapter requires a tremendous amount of rigidity for support while cutting. With Eppinger's distinctive back-to-back tapered roller bearing configuration inside of every tool holder, you can be sure the tool holder will meet high demands you require from your tooling.

Whistle Notch Adapter

Much like the Weldon shank side-lock configuration, the PRECI-FLEX Whistle Notch Adapter is another side-lock chuck that uses a set screw to clamp the drill or endmill. However, unlike the Weldon, the Whistle Notch Adapter has the set screw clamping against the drill or endmill at a 5 degree angle. This 5 degree angle will push the drill or endmill back against a stop in theory. It is up to the end-user to properly set the depth of the stop otherwise the clamping system becomes ineffective. Each adapter is equipped with a set screw at the bottom of the chuck to act as an adjustable stop.

ER Collet Chuck Inside Nut Adapter

The PRECI-FLEX Type 15 ER Collet Chuck Inside Nut Adapter is only used for smaller sized collet chucks: ER32, ER25 and ER20. Similar to the Type 2 ER Collet Chuck Extended Small Adapter, this adaptor will size down your existing collet chuck to allow for a smaller clamping range. In addition and contrary to Type 2, this adaptor is designed to have the collet face closely flush with the adaptor face. Each adapter is equipped with a set screw at the bottom of the chuck to act as an adjustable stop.

ER Collet Chuck Standard Adapter

PRECI-FLEX Type 1 ER Collet Chuck Standard Adapter meets the highest demands from our customers. The adapter has three major advantages: 1) extends the drill or endmill away from the face of the tool holder for additional reach, which is typically desired if working close to the OD or ID of the work piece. 2) adapter can be identical to the ER pocket that fits into or the ER chuck can be reduced to the next size smaller. Reducing the pocket size will open up the bottom end of the clamping range. And the universally common feature amongst all adaptors, 3) allows for offline presets for the next job. This feature allows you to preset tool lengths in our PRECI-FLEX adapters offline while the tool base remains operational in the machine. Presetting offline is a remarkable time saver because your machine is running and making parts while getting the next job preset. Each adapter is equipped with a set screw at the bottom of the chuck to act as an adjustable stop.
